Summary

https://taaghche。com/audiobook/67331/。。。 https://taaghche。com/audiobook/67331/。。。 。。。more

For the modern machiavellist or the avid listener, to outplay the ones around you or for the shear enjoyment of the stories – or perhaps both。One interesting detail – this is the author's breakthrough book, after years' sought for success。 For the modern machiavellist or the avid listener, to outplay the ones around you or for the shear enjoyment of the stories – or perhaps both。One interesting detail – this is the author's breakthrough book, after years' sought for success。 。。。more

this book is so awful it’s not the 48 laws of power but 48 ways on how to be a raging asshole and ruin your entire social life。what’s even worse than the book though is the concerning amount of people glorifying this book saying “some people are just not good on the inside” if that justifies abusing people to gain power over them maybe the fact it’s among the most ordered books in US prisons should tell y’all something。

Fascinating book, kinda evil in a lot of ways。 Eye opening for sure! Probably something everyone should read, just so you know what other people are up to!

Some people will label this book as evil - corrupting or immoral, which is somewhat sad not for the book, but for them! This book like every other book is subjective and it’s the persons own moral compass that will guide and direct them。 Does the same person who mislabels this book in the negative, believe that others books available such as the communist manifesto or other such books are evil? Every written word is subjective to what the reader can see or take from the words。 If you read this o Some people will label this book as evil - corrupting or immoral, which is somewhat sad not for the book, but for them! This book like every other book is subjective and it’s the persons own moral compass that will guide and direct them。 Does the same person who mislabels this book in the negative, believe that others books available such as the communist manifesto or other such books are evil? Every written word is subjective to what the reader can see or take from the words。 If you read this or listen as I did, you will see that if a person sees only evil it demonstrates their own character and how they would subconsciously treat others but under the guise of faux kindness & platitudes! I am an empathic person, with somewhat too much compassion。 I’m hyper vigilant, non-confrontational, and generally too kind and could I guess be labelled ‘soft’! I opted for this book when I discovered it has been banned in specific locations, or frowned upon in areas from über rich individuals。 I asked why? Because, the methods they adopt they do not wish to be known mainstream。 I’m intelligent enough to understand that those who gain power are not and definitely do not have the attributes in their personality as I do。 You cannot get ahead in life being non confrontational or submissive… This book took me by surprise, it was informative and broke down historical leaders, highlighted under hand tactics that have been used, tactics that can help and didn’t gloss over too much! Some can be long winded, but I think that’s because this book is one to be read in chunks regularly whereas I listened consecutively while decorating。 This book is essential to help highlight the manipulation that has existed and exists in society and the games in which high stakes player play。 You are delusional in my own humble opinion if you believe that others do not have a negative persona that they use to manipulate others for their own benefit; lie to protect themselves or gain advantage; cheat the system or individuals in order to better position themselves; deceive, in order to advance themselves; convince others of their ‘morals’ or helpfulness or even their protective qualities –fraudulently and play or direct others into the movements they want to see occur。 Just because someone wants to do something negatively or immoral doesn’t mean they aren’t patient or treating others like a game of Chess manipulating pawns into positions in order to achieve the desired outcome over time, while professing to be a good, moral person, or for the greater good。 This ‘manipulative’ skill is used by many in power roles, businesses, governments and many others! Too think it isn’t, is not only delusional, but ignorant that people are not all truly moral, upstanding people。 This book demonstrates all these POWERS in rules because it shows people what can be done, and how to SUBJECTIVELY improve yourself in order to not be played like a pawn, to open your eyes, to pay attention and essentially fight back。 Do you have to be evil? No, I’m fact that’s says more about the person you are! I recommend this book to improve your own abilities, too see the games and players for what they really are, allowing you to protect yourself。 Take it from me, kindness doesn’t always work, platitudes, and niceties don’t get things happening or changing… they allow you to be taken advantage off, ignored or mistreated! But wrap kindness, respect and compassion in a firm, direct and powerful bubble — you can and will achieve more! I guess some people just don’t understand that critical thinking, subjectivity and your own moral compass can guide you into your own opinions and thoughts! 。。。more

"Never be distracted by people’s glamorous portraits of themselves and their lives; search and dig for what really imprisons them" (Greene 354)。 This line perfectly expresses how a lot of high school kids are。 In todays day and age of social media, people can portray themselves as anything and in anyway they want to。 Usually this image of themselves they portray differs from who they truly are。 "Never be distracted by people’s glamorous portraits of themselves and their lives; search and dig for what really imprisons them" (Greene 354)。 This line perfectly expresses how a lot of high school kids are。 In todays day and age of social media, people can portray themselves as anything and in anyway they want to。 Usually this image of themselves they portray differs from who they truly are。 。。。more

I read somewhere that Greene’s books are banned in prisons。 Also that they are ethically questionable and a little controversial。 I hate self-help books, but the controversy got my attention。A very well thought out guide to power in all its aspects。 Lots of ideas taken from many sources。 The nature of power and human psychology distilled into an exact science in the style of Machiavelli or Sun Tzu。 There were lots of historical examples to back up the points of the laws。 They also made the laws I read somewhere that Greene’s books are banned in prisons。 Also that they are ethically questionable and a little controversial。 I hate self-help books, but the controversy got my attention。A very well thought out guide to power in all its aspects。 Lots of ideas taken from many sources。 The nature of power and human psychology distilled into an exact science in the style of Machiavelli or Sun Tzu。 There were lots of historical examples to back up the points of the laws。 They also made the laws easier to understand and remember in a way that similar books usually fail to do。One of the main criticisms of Greene’s books is that they encourages manipulative and ruthless behaviour。 But some would argue that all human interaction is manipulation to some extent。 Realistically, who could act 100% honest all the time and still make people happy。 As for ruthlessness, that’s the world we live in。 That’s the kind of thing they don’t teach you in school。 You can try to be nice and play fair, but your enemies wouldn’t do the same for you。 As Machiavelli himself said: “How we live is so different from how we ought to live that he who studies what ought to be done rather than what is done will learn the way to his downfall rather than to his preservation。”Not all of the book is morally grey。 A good portion is about recognising your weaknesses and optimising your situation to your circumstances。Also, knowing the laws means they can't be use against you。So overall, a great and practical read。Now I’m off to conquer the world。 。。。more

I can see why many people would find this book amoral, disturbing or pure evil。 However, this book states the truth of mind games and psychological power play that characterizes the upper echelons of power。 This book is a good guide to understand how human mind works and how one can leverage it to one's advantage。 Even if you're not interested in power, you can still learn to recognize subtle manipulations and just protect yourself。 While this book is not everyone。 If you're interested in social I can see why many people would find this book amoral, disturbing or pure evil。 However, this book states the truth of mind games and psychological power play that characterizes the upper echelons of power。 This book is a good guide to understand how human mind works and how one can leverage it to one's advantage。 Even if you're not interested in power, you can still learn to recognize subtle manipulations and just protect yourself。 While this book is not everyone。 If you're interested in social psychology, this is a very good read。 I feel a bit evil for liking this book but it was a worthwhile read。 I can see myself revisiting the book every once in a while。 。。。more

It was definitely well-written。 I did find a few great points (towards the beginning of the book) but mostly found the book to be manipulative and repetitive。 Greene used stories from history as examples to certain laws and concepts, but repeated the stories or variations of them in multiple laws。 I can see why narcissists and the like are so drawn to this book though。 It teaches the reader how to be manipulative to gain power。

What are the main ideas? 48 laws of power - highlights our resource constrained, negative outlook。 e。g。 Kill them all…evil villain perspective。 If I implemented one idea from this book right now, which one would it be? Basics such as never outshine the master。。。learn to complement。 There are some great laws to incorporate。How would I describe the book to a friend? 48 laws that outlines how to get to power using history to back up it's laws。My opinion: Greene has some good concepts。 However, deli What are the main ideas? 48 laws of power - highlights our resource constrained, negative outlook。 e。g。 Kill them all…evil villain perspective。 If I implemented one idea from this book right now, which one would it be? Taken at face value, 48 Laws of Power is an excruciating and sophomoric guide to being an asshole worthy of perhaps one star。 I choose instead to interpret it as an absurdist and Nabokovian work of unreliable narrative。 Through that lens, it’s reasonably well written and has some interesting examples。

Its okay。 A lot of anecdote on how people use power to dominate。 I think how to win friends and influence is always the classic and better book。 But this can be a good pre-bed time read, with short stories which u can finish in 5-10 minutes。

Fantastic book, ppl who say its amoral are most likely amoral themselves。 This book can be used in any variety of positive ways of course some negative ways, just like life its what you do with it。 There are great anecdotes, history that may pique your interest that may broaden your horizons if you delve deeper, there are practical items and some counterintuitive ones。 Amazing insights into other peoples behaviors which may have troubled you through a lack of understanding of human nature。 Again Fantastic book, ppl who say its amoral are most likely amoral themselves。 This book can be used in any variety of positive ways of course some negative ways, just like life its what you do with it。 There are great anecdotes, history that may pique your interest that may broaden your horizons if you delve deeper, there are practical items and some counterintuitive ones。 Amazing insights into other peoples behaviors which may have troubled you through a lack of understanding of human nature。 Again I cant stress enough, the virtue signalers who say its evil are not to be listened to and probably to be avoided if you know them personally。 Not into many wisdom books as they generally spew the same mumbo jumbo and common sense, this books ability to be so practical, historical and anecdotal all at once is really a great book to pick up at random and remember random laws and the wisdom inside。 。。。more

worst book i ever read。。 i couldn’t finish it。。 each “ law” worse than the other 。。 some of them the title is good but the explanation of how to use that arvice is bad 。。 we need to produce more hamns with humane values and honors not create superficial taking advantages society。。 some argue it is already there my argument why add more and reenforce that type of thinking。。 i never hate a book but this one is by far the worst。 i’d take every law and reverse it。
